TX.-- Fort Worth police, family and friends across North Texas are mourning Officer Hank Nava, who died Thursday from a gunshot wound to his head on Tuesday.

Lt. Dean Sullivan said Nava, 39, died at Harris Methodist Hospital Thursday. Teresa Nava wore her husband's police jacket and badge but did not speak after the announcement was made.

"Fort Worth lost one of its finest, Teresa lost her husband. Kayleigh and Justin lost their dad. Everyone in this city feels a sense of loss," Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief said.
