A Bronx beat cop who had just finished his shift and was sitting in his car near the precinct station house fended off an attempted carjacking early yesterday, shooting and wounding the armed attacker, police said.
Officer Kenneth O'Connor, 34, of the 47th Precinct, was sitting in his Ford Explorer about 12:20 a.m. at the corner of East 223rd Street and Schieffellin Avenue in the Williamsbridge section when Daniel Arroyo, 22, approached the open driver's-side window, police said.
