Houston officer shot during confrontation

Two possible suspects are now in custody in connection with the shooting

HOUSTON — An police officer working an off-duty security job was shot and wounded at an upscale apartment complex in west Houston this morning, officials said.

The shooting occurred at the Alexan Bunker Hill apartments before noon in the 9700 block of Pine Lake, just north of Interstate 10 near Bunker Hill, authorities said.

Two men have been taken into custody, officials said. No further details on the arrests were available.

The Houston officer, who apparently lives at the complex, was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital-Texas Medical Center. No other information was immediately available, including the officer's condition.
