Video: Firefighter proposes to cop girlfriend after 'rescue'

Firefighter uses aerial ladder to 'save' girlfriend from a work meeting before popping the big question

By PoliceOne Staff

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — A Utah firefighter used an aerial ladder to "rescue" his police officer girlfriend from an office meeting — and proposed to her.

Kyle Marson climbed up the ladder and greeted Officer Karlin Wichma at the window to ask the big question. Cheers can be heard in video taken at the scene as Wichma says "yes" to him.

"We actually met on a call," Marson said. "It was a traffic accident, so I was there to do the medical and she was there to write tickets."

The couple has not set a date for the wedding, but Marson said there would not be anything as extravagant as his proposal.
