Date of Incident: September 15, 2005 By Mike Glenn, Houtston Chronicle A San Jacinto County deputy constable died Thursday evening while attempting to save a struggling swimmer in the Trinity River, authorities said. Sgt. Denny Galloway, 34, was unable to reach the swimmer, a young Marine who recently returned to Texas from a tour in Iraq, said Precinct 2 Constable Jerry Everitt.
