Cause of Death: Agent Samuels suffered a fatal heart attack after being assaulted by a student.

Date of Incident: December 16, 2005

By David Andreatta and Perry Chiaramonte, The New York Post

N.Y. -- Vivian Samuels became ill when she stepped outside the school, MS 390, after being hit in the head by a student whom she had tried to remove from the dance, cops said. Samuels, a 14-year veteran safety officer, died in an ambulance en route to Kings County Hospital at about 6 p.m.

Blocks around the hospital were cordoned off last night as Police Commissioner Ray Kelly paid his respects to Samuel's family and the NYPD mourned another loss following the recent murders of two hero cops.

Police said an official at the school had asked Samuels to remove the 12-year-old student from the dance because she was being unruly. A union source told The Post the girl was in the middle of a fight with another girl.
