Officer Down: Ryan Seguin - [Broward County, Florida]
Additional Information: Officer Seguin served with the Broward County Sheriff's Office for 3 years. He is survived by his father, a retired Ft. Lauderdale police officer.
Cause of death: Deputy Ryan Seguin was struck and killed by the driver of a vehicle as he and his partner made a traffic stop on I-595, just east of Southwest 136 Avenue.

DAVIE, Fla. -- A Broward Sheriff's Office deputy was killed and another was injured during a traffic stop on Interstate 595 Wednesday night, officials said.
Deputy Ryan Seguin, 23, was driving a green unmarked Dodge Stratus when he pulled over 37-year-old Jose Lopez, who was driving a blue Ford Taurus, about 9:15 p.m. Emergency lights in the rear of the unmarked car were flashing. It was not immediately clear why Seguin pulled the vehicle over.
Both cars were stopped east of Southwest 136 Avenue and westbound I-595 in a safety zone between the highway and merging traffic when the deputy was struck from behind by a passing car, said Lt. Tim Frith, of the Florida Highway Patrol.
