As you remember these fallen officers, take comfort in recalling that they dedicated their lives to the same principles of honor, duty and courage that brought you to the badge. Such a life is truly rich. Take strength in knowing that when an officer falls, our resolve to serve those in need is not diminished. Our dedication to protecting those in danger is not weakened. Army civilian police officer dies after test run
Officer Down: Bart Child - [Fort Huachuca, Arizona]

FORT HUACHUCA — An army civilian police officer died Thursday morning after collapsing during a training run.
Bart Child, 29, collapsed as he was completing the run with another officer at Fort Huachuca in southern Arizona as part of preparation for the Department of the Army Police Academy.
Child was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Health Center, where he later died.
Child had been transferred to Fort Huachuca last month.
