As you remember these fallen officers, take comfort in recalling that they dedicated their lives to the same principles of honor, duty and courage that brought you to the badge. Such a life is truly rich. Take strength in knowing that when an officer falls, our resolve to serve those in need is not diminished. Our dedication to protecting those in danger is not weakened. Puerto Rican officer shot, killed in robbery
Officer Down: Iván G. Román Matos - [San Juan, Puerto Rico]

TOA BAJA, P.R.— An officer was killed at the scene of a robbery in Puerto Rico Wednesday night.
Officer Iván G. Román Matos was one of two officers who responded to the incident scene when he was shot four times in the head and neck. according to ODMP.
Matos was transported to Doctors Center Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time after.
The suspects fled the scene and remain at large.
Matos had served with the Puerto Rican Police Department for seven months.
