Officer Down: Sergeant Blanton - [Virginia State Police, Virginia]
A Virginia State Police Sergeant was murdered in his own home on Thursday, possiblly with one of his own guns. He lived in a small town near Fredericksburg. His wife and at least one child were home at the time. The sergeant was head of the Computer Evidence Unit--at this point, it is not known if the killing is duty related. The investigation is continuing.
