Mass. Man, Police Officer Killed In Two Accidents On Same Hwy.

As you remember these fallen officers, take comfort in recalling that they dedicated their lives to the same principles of honor, duty and courage that brought you to the badge. Such a life is truly rich. Take strength in knowing that when an officer falls, our resolve to serve those in need is not diminished. Our dedication to protecting those in danger is not weakened. Our commitment to remembering those with whom we shared the badge does not fade.

Godspeed, brothers and sisters. You fought the good fight. Now rest in peace…

The Associated Press

WARE, Mass. (AP) -- An accident on Route 32 in Ware on Monday killed one driver, while an accident on the same road in neighboring Monson killed a police officer the previous day.

On Monday, Joseph Weaver, 53, of Ware was killed at about 5:30 a.m. when his vehicle hit a milk truck on a section of the rural road in Ware, police said.

The driver of the truck, Dwayne Laramee, was not injured. The accident was under investigation.

On Sunday, a police officer from Monson was killed when he lost control of his car on Route 32 in that town and hit utility poles.

Police Officer Michael Bolaske, 37, was airlifted to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, where he died. Police were also investigating that accident.
