Such a life is truly rich. Take strength in knowing that when an officer falls, our resolve to serve those in need is not diminished. Our dedication to protecting those in danger is not weakened. Our commitment to remembering those with whom we shared the badge does not fade.

Godspeed, brothers and sisters. You fought the good fight. Now rest in peace…

Officer Down: P.C. Chris Garrett - [Cobourg, Ontario]


A full police funeral for Cobourg Constable Chris Garrett, killed in the line of duty this past Saturday, will take place at 13:00hrs on Thursday May 20 at the Lions Community Centre, 157 Elgin Street East, Cobourg (Ontario, Canada), with a open air (tented) reception to follow on Darcy Street across from Northam Industrial Park (all within walking distance of bus parking area).

Directions: take 401 to exit #474 (County Rd 45/ Division St, Cobourg). Go south on Division Street, past two sets of lights, and left on Ewart Street. Officers and civilian members wishing to march should gather in the Northam Industrial Park by 11:15 hrs.

There is no parking at the Lions Community Centre and very limited parking at Northam Industrial Park.

Cobourg is located about one hour's drive east of Toronto. For officers driving from the Kingston, Ontario border crossing area, Cobourg is about 15-20 minutes past Belleville, Ontario.

To avoid any difficulties crossing the border, officers attending from the U.S. should not cross the boarder with firearms (unless you have prior arrangements with U.S. and Canadian border protective services agencies).
