SUV driver opens fire on Utah police

SALT LAKE CITY Salt Lake City police arrested a 19-year-old man over the weekend on suspicion of attempted aggravated murder after he allegedly shot at police officers early Saturday.

Siale Maveni Angilau allegedly leaned out the window of a Jeep Cherokee near 600 South and Cheyenne Street about 2:30 a.m. and fired several shots at a police car and two officers who were attempting to stop the SUV, said Detective Jared Wihongi. No police were injured.

The Cherokee drove away, but it was later found at a home near 600 South and Emery Street.
