Boston man won't drop gun, is fatally shot

Suspect ran from a South End traffic stop and then pulled a gun on cops

BOSTON — A man who ran from a South End traffic stop yesterday and then pulled a gun on cops was shot and killed when he refused to drop the weapon, police said.

Cops stopped a late model Cadillac on Harcourt Street yesterday at about 5:47 p.m., police said. Boston Police Commissioner Edward F. Davis said two officers chased the driver when he exited the car and started running.
