PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — Video of a highway patrol trooper opening fire in a cemetery after a man appeared with a gun has been released.
Officer Daniel Cole is seen in the grainy footage aiming a rifle at a shed where Clifford Work appeared armed in the doorway. Cole fired several rounds, hitting Work — who turned out to be the cemetery owner — once in the leg, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Cole was tracking a signal from a LoJack theft recovery device on a stolen motorcycle, which was later found behind the shed Work had been sleeping in.
The investigation of the shooting cleared Cole of any wrongdoing.
