SPANISH FORK, Utah — More than a month after a Utah police officer was shot in the head during a crime spree that killed another deputy, the recovering officer spoke about his progress.

Deputy Greg Sherwood was at the Utah County Sheriff’s Office Saturday, as friends, neighbors and others had pitched in to present him with a motorcycle. Sherwood is a motorcycle enthusiast who has been riding for years.

Those who donated the bike did so to show their support for Sherwood and give him something to do once he recovers a little bit more. The request for donations was shared on social media, and one donation came from as far away as the United Kingdom.
