NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — South Carolina Highway Patrol says two people were taken to a hospital Wednesday night after a North Charleston police cruiser flipped while on its way to the scene of an accident.
A North Charleston police officer and 70-year-old Bill Youngblood, a volunteer chaplain for Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy were inside the cruiser. The NCPD says the officer lost control of his vehicle which then struck the median and rolled.
"We are thankful that the officer and chaplain did not sustain serious injuries as a result of the collision," a release by the police department stated.
