Arrest made after D.C. officer hit by stolen limousine

The Associated Press
WASHINGTON — A D.C. police officer assigned to bike patrol is still hospitalized after being hit by a limousine that police say was stolen.  Authorities have made an arrest in the case but have yet to release and details.

It happened Thursday after 4 p.m. in the 4300 block of Ord Street, Northeast.

Police say two officers on mountain bikes stopped near an alley to talk to some kids. They say the black 2006 Cadillac DTS Limousine pulled up behind the officers, revved the engine and drove toward them. The officer who was struck managed to push his partner out of the way of the limo.

Police say they found the limo abandoned nearby and that it had been reported stolen last week.

The injured officer is in stable condition. Authorities aren't releasing his name, but say he's a six-year veteran of the department.
