DALLAS — Police are looking into a biker's claim that a Dallas County deputy sheriff pulled him over Memorial Day weekend in order seize his helmet camera.

Dash cam video shows Deputy James Westbrook stop Chris Moore, apparently in connection with an earlier incident. According to a report, a group of riders taunted squad cars a few hours before the stop by slamming on their brakes and blocking their path.

"The reason you're being pulled over is because I'm gonna take your camera, and we're gonna use it as evidence of... in the crimes that have been committed by other bikers," Westbrook says in the video.

Moore says he refuses torefused to give up the camera, and a few minutes later, Deputy Westbrook places him under arrest arrested him for driving with an obstructed license plate.

No official investigation has been brought forward, but police say they will evaluate the stop.

"We are looking to determine if his conduct was appropriate for the situation at hand," department spokeswoman Carmen Castro said
