Video: Boy, 12, confronts cop for illegal parking

The boy videotapes as he interrogates a motorcycle cop for parking on the sidewalk

By PoliceOne Staff

LAS VEGAS — A video that’s accumulated more than 3 million views already on YouTube shows a confrontation between a Vegas cop and a 12-year-old boy.

The boy, who identifies himself as Jeremy Drew, approaches the officer — camera phone in hand — asking why the cop’s bike is there, as the officer is seen returning to his bike with a beverage.

“Umm, hello. Is there a reason for you to park on the sidewalk? Is it like an emergency or anything?” Drew asks.

The officer replies, "Cause I can," prompting the boy to ask for his badge number.

"What are you, a junior lawyer?" the cop asks, preparing to get on his motorcycle.

The boy again asks for the officer’s badge number, and the officer drives off.
