Patrol Issues

The Patrol Issues topic page offers news, commentary, analysis, and tactical tips that will help prepare police officers for life on the thin blue line. Suspect contacts, witness interviews, foot pursuits, citizen complaints, angry sergeants, and endless report writing are day-to-day activities for a patrol officer who knows that the “routine” is anything but routine.

Ga. cop demonstrates danger of a hot cars to kids and pets

A Forsyth County (Ga.) Sheriff's officer volunteered to sit in a patrol car to demonstrate the danger of hot car to children, pets, elderly or anyone unattended in a hot parked car. In seven minutes his pulse rate doubled from the heat stress and after 20 minutes the dashboard temperature was 177 degrees.

Yesterday, I "volunteered" to sit in a HOT patrol car to demonstrate why NOT to leave children, pets, or anyone unattended in a hot parked car. Many of you may have seen the video from WSB-TV (link below), here is a more in depth behind the scenes video from that demonstration. http://bcove.me/7vsk6224
