Minneapolis police involved in shooting return to work

The Associated Press

MINNEAPOLIS- Two Minneapolis police officers involved in a fatal shooting last month are returning to their jobs.

Officers Jason King and Lawrence Loonsfoot were placed on administrative leave after the Sept. 20 shooting of Dominic Felder, age 27. They had responded to a domestic incident call at Felder's house where, according to police, Felder resisted arrest and tried to grab King's gun. They say King shot Felder at least once and Loonsfoot shot him multiple times.

It has yet to be determined in what capacity the officers will work while the investigation into Felder's shooting continues.

A member of Felder's family said they understand it's standard procedure for the officers to be put back to work and expect it will have no bearing on the continuing investigation.
