Florida:  Fort Lauderdale officer fatally shoots man. Authorities said two officers were conducting training exercises at about 2 a.m. on Prospect Road when they were approached by a man in his 30s who was bleeding from the face and head.

UK: Taser used during hostage drama. Police subdued a knife-wielding man with a Taser stun gun after he attacked a worker at a medical centre and held another hostage.
