Ohio detective fatally shot after interrupting drug deal

Incident Details: Detective Dressell was shot and killed when he and another detective interrupted a drug deal. One of the suspects fled on foot when the detectives exited their vehicle and identified themselves. Detective Dressell chased the suspect who fled as the other detective took the second suspect into custody. The juvenile suspect opened fire on Detective Dressell during the foot pursuit, striking him once in the chest. Despite being mortally wounded, Detective Dressell was able to return fire, but it is not known if he struck the suspect, who remains at large.
Cause of Death: Detective Dressell died of a gunshot wound.
