Off-duty fed shoots knife-wielding suspect; SF officer injured

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — A federal agent shot and wounded a knife-wielding suspect who had earlier stabbed a man and then shoved a San Francisco police officer into the path of a moving vehicle, a police spokesman said Friday.

The incident began just before 7 p.m., when a victim of a stabbing called police on his cell phone, according to San Francisco police Sgt. Neville Gittens.
