UTICA, N.Y. — A 23-year-old man accused of gunning down a Utica police officer in a grudge killing was scheduled to be arraigned on murder charges Thursday morning.
Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara said Lindsey had pulled over a car with two men inside when Molina-Cirino walked up behind him and opened fire.
Molina-Cirino was questioned in the days after the shooting and he was being held in a Syracuse jail on drug charges until he was released to the custody of Utica police on Wednesday.
Utica Police Chief C. Allen Pylman said Molina-Cirino targeted Lindsey in the revenge attack. Lindsey had never arrested Molina-Cirino, but he had arrested some of his friends, authorities said.
