Two Metropolitan Police Department cruisers collided about 10 p.m. Monday at the intersection of 21st Street and Stewart Avenue when they were responding to the same incident, police said.

The officers in the patrol cars were responding, with their lights and sirens on, to a call about a stolen vehicle and a suspect with a gun, said Jose Montoya, spokesman for the Las Vegas police.

Two officers were in one of the cars and one officer was in the other. All suffered minor injuries, were treated at University Medical Center and released from the hospital, Montoya said.

Montoya said the damage estimates for the two patrol cars were not available but the police are investigating the crash.

"If they can determine at the scene who was at fault, an officer can get cited," said Montoya.

He said the names of the officers involved in the wreck were not available on Tuesday.
