CHICAGO, Ill. — Once person was in custody this morning after police raided a Northwest Side home and found 94 kilograms of cocaine worth an estimated $12 million.

Grand Central District officers, along with agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration and Immigration and Customs Enforcement, staked out the home in the 3100 block of North Linder Avenue Thursday afternoon after learning that a large shipment of drugs was about to be moved, Chicago Police Officer Amina Greer said.

About 4 p.m. Thursday, the officers saw a man come out of the house, put a large box into a vehicle and drive off, Greer said.

"Officers stopped the vehicle and found 16 kilograms of cocaine inside," Greer said. A search warrant for the house was obtained, and police found an additional 78 kilos of cocaine, she said.

The man, 29, was arrested and charges were pending this morning, Greer said. No one else was in the home at the time of the raid and the investigation was continuing, she said.
