PORTLAND, Ore. — A Portland police officer was injured early this morning when a car plowed into his patrol car as it was stopped with lights flashing on Interstate 5.
Police say Central Precinct Officer Bill Shaw, 39, was helping with traffic control in the southbound lanes of the freeway near Southwest Hood Street at 1:20 a.m. when the crash occurred.
