Florida: Prime Suspect In Detective's Death In Custody. 21-Year-Old Arrested, Not Yet Charged. Police recovered an AK-47 at the crime scene. 

Related: Mistaken identity a theory in officer's death. A Miami police detective was shot and killed in his unmarked car while off duty. He is the fifth South Florida law enforcement officer shot dead since November 2006.

Related: Police believe a Miami detective was killed as a man ran through a nearby apartment complex firing his AK-47 in a jealous rage, authorities said Wednesday.

North Carolina: UNC Greensboro drill simulates school shooting

Arkansas: The North Little Rock SWAT team shot 40-year-old Tracy Ingle Monday night while they served a search and seize warrant for drugs.

South Carolina: Emergency Calls Released From Deputy Shooting. Deputies say the 911 call was made by 34-year-old Jeffrey Smith of Meggett. Smith told the dispatcher he'd been stabbed in the heart and needed police to come out. When deputies got to Smith's home, they say he was holding the rifle and screaming.
