Ill. dad says cops forced murder confession

Said an investigator warned him "that God would punish him for killing the girls"

ZION, Ill. — Police questioning Jerry Hobbs about the 2005 stabbing murders of his daughter and her friend threatened, pressured and even punched the former Zion man to force a phony confession from him, Hobbs contends in a federal lawsuit filed Wednesday.

One investigator even warned "that God would punish him for killing the girls," and others with the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force made him look at graphic photos of the girls' bodies, the suit says.
