2 ordered to pay in looting after Mehserle verdict
They will pay $25,000 each to a store owner who said he was forced to go out of business

OAKLAND, Calif. — A judge has ordered two men accused of looting an Oakland jewelry store in the aftermath of the conviction of former BART police Officer Johannes Mehserle to pay $25,000 each to the store owner, who said he was forced to go out of business.
Judge Richard Keller of Alameda County Superior Court signed the order late last month against Gerald Dugas of Castro Valley and Terry Williams of Oakland after the pair failed to respond to a civil suit filed by Oakland City Attorney John Russo.
