Conn. police rally at capitol to save jobs
The current force of 1,127 is already more than 100 troopers short

56 troopers from the latest class of cadets were laid off in July, and it is unknown whether they will get their jobs back, according to NBC Connecticut.
A recent labor concessions package ratified by state employees included health and retirement benefits for officers, but came at the cost of a two-year wage freeze – another grievance that brought troopers to the rally.
