Suspect in '68 Calif. police gun battle turns self in

REDWOOD CITY — An alleged 1960s radical who'd been living in Michigan under an alias for decades turned himself in Thursday to face charges stemming from a 1968 gun battle with South San Francisco police.

Ronald Stanley Bridgeforth, 67, whispered the words, "I love you," to his wife as he was led away in handcuffs from a packed San Mateo County Courtroom.
