In what became a seven-hour ordeal for police, William Wright, brother Christopher Wright, and girlfriend Jessica Carpenter fled Deputy Jeff Nichols and Reserve Deputy Jeremy Conley after firing at Nichols, who pulled them over last week.
During the multiple pursuits that followed, the brothers crashed their vehicle and crashed another car into a house. William Wright then caused an explosion in a neighboring garage and used a stolen vehicle to ram fences over before he was apprehended. Christopher Wright was found hiding in a pickup truck nearby.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff Department identified a fourth person of interest, Dominique Divan Castle, WOOD TV reported Thursday. Prosecutors may also seek an additional charge against William Wright of being a felon in possession of a firearm, adding to his nine earlier felony charges.
Christopher Wright was charged with resisting and obstructing officers, sources said, and Jessica Carpenter, charged with being an accessory after the fact, is reportedly out of jail on bond.
Dep. Nicholas was treated at the hospital for his gunshot wound and released.
