Kenny Fox, 39, pushed two volunteer firefighters out of the way of a collapsing roof in a fire, according to The Associated Press. The call for the fire came early Saturday from a restaurant west of Parsons, and the responders arrived on the scene at shortly after 4:30 a.m.
Decatur County Sheriff Roy Wyatt said the roof collapsed on Fox, killing him.
Firefighter Jeremy Inman and his brother, Randy Inman, were injured, Wyatt said. The siblings were taken to the hospital, where Randy Inman was treated and released, the Jackson Sun reported. Jeremy Inman was moved to a medical center in Nashville and was in stable condition Saturday.
A memorial fund has been set up for Fox at the Decatur County Bank. Donations can be sent to the Kenny Fox Memorial Fund at P.O. Box 429, Decaturville, TN 38329.
