Pa. officer's blood-stained uniform at issue in trial

Adams County DA wants to dress a mannequin in the bullet-riddled uniform of a slain wildlife conservation officer at his suspected killer's trial

HANOVER, Pa. — Should the prosecution be allowed to dress a mannequin in the bloody uniform of a slain wildlife conservation officer at trial?

Adams County District Attorney Shawn Wagner said the mannequin wearing David L. Grove's uniform, which has several bullet holes, is a necessary part of his argument showing the trajectory of the rounds that struck Grove when he was killed Nov. 11, 2010.

But the defense's special council William Miele argues that the mere presence of the blood-stained uniform, bearing Grove's name, could unduly influence the jury and hurt Christopher L. Johnson's chances at a fair trial.
