US police behind most data requests on Twitter
80% of 'global demands' for personal info on Twitter come from US law enforcement, typically for use in criminal investigations
American enforcement agencies have topped the list of governments that have made the most demands for users' personal details on Twitter, according to a survey conducted by the social website.
Twitter revealed that out of the 849 total government requests for user information between January 1 and June 30 this year, 679 took place in the U.S., typically for use in criminal investigations and U.S. cops made 80 percent of the total requests for users' private information.
