SALEM, Ore.— Oregon State Police arrested a 47-year old Salem woman Monday morning on several charges including attempted murder after she struck her 48-year old husband with her vehicle outside their residence following an alleged domestic-related incident. The victim, an off-duty Salem police officer, is reported in critical condition at Salem Hospital.

The initial investigation indicated on December 10, 2012 at approximately 1:19 a.m. the victim, Kenneth Nunez age 48, was walking toward his motorcycle parked in front of his residence when he was struck by a 2003 Ford F-150 pickup driven by his wife, Shirley Nunez, age 47. A few minutes before the reported crash, Salem police was responding to a reported incident in the 1800 block of Torrance Street S. where an adult female reported Shirley Nunez, armed with a handgun, came to the residence. Shirley Nunez allegedly entered the residence through a rear sliding glass door, pointed the handgun at the woman and briefly confronted her about a suspected relationship involving the woman and Kenneth Nunez before leaving in the pickup.
