ALPHARETTA, Ga. — A Georgia police officer shot seven times in a gun battle just over two weeks ago got a standing ovation when he walked onto the stage of an Alpharetta church.
Alpharetta police officer David Freeman walked slowly with the use of a cane during Sunday services at North Point Community Church. Freeman was shot in the lower abdomen, a shoulder and one of his legs while another bullet grazed his back, Alpharetta police spokesman George Gordon said shortly after the shootout.
