ST. PETE BEACH, Fla. — A 39-year-old St. Pete Beach man was arrested early Tuesday after he attacked two Pinellas County sheriff's deputies helping the man's estranged girlfriend move her belongings out of his apartment, according to records.
Once the woman, Alyssa Allamong, screamed after she went into No. 157 at 8931 Blind Pass Road, Sgt. Kelly Bush and Deputy Jason Ellis rushed in. But Allamong's boyfriend, Jeffrey Villarreal, tried to stop them from entering by slamming the door shut, according to arrest affidavits.
The door hit Bush in the face and knee, and after that Villarreal resisted being taken into custody, the affidavits said.
A scuffle broke out.
At different points in time, according to the affidavits, Villarreal punched Ellis in the face at least twice, knocking Ellis' eyeglasses across the room, and grabbed his legs, pulling his feet out from under him.
Villarreal was poised to strike Ellis when Bush stopped him, the affidavits say. At some point, Villarreal grabbed Ellis' electric stun gun and smacked Bush with it. He also punched her in the face several times. The fight continued until several other deputies arrived.
Villarreal was charged with, among other things, aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer, three counts of battery on a law enforcement agent, depriving an officer of means of communication and false imprisonment. He was being held without bail at the Pinellas County Jail.
Villarreal, who is 6 feet tall and weighs 200 pounds, was under the influence of alcohol during the 1:24 a.m. attack, the affidavits said.
On Monday, which was Villarreal's birthday, he grabbed the steering wheel of the car Allamong was driving and jerked it, forcing the car into a utility pole, an arrest affidavit said. For that, he was charged with criminal mischief.
Then he left her in the road with the damaged car, affidavits said.
