Tait and Cassidian Communications Shift Partnership to Phase 2

Organizations seeking mission-critical communications solutions delivering choice, long-term value and flexibility now have access to the industry's leading P25 Phase 2 offerings from two global solutions providers that embrace proven open-technology standards.

Tait Communications, a global leader in the design, delivery and management of critical communication solutions, and Cassidian Communications, an EADS North America company, today announced an enhanced partnership for Cassidian to deliver a P25 Phase 2-capable solution.

The agreement expands the strategic relationship between the two companies, with the Tait-manufactured TB9400 TDMA- and FDMA-capable base station now included as part of Cassidian Communications' CORP25 digital trunked network.

Additionally, Cassidian Communications will now also offer the Tait TM9400 and TP9400 mobile and portable radios to its CORP25 clients.

Francois Begaud, Chief Operating Officer, Cassidian Communications' Land Mobile Radio (LMR) division, says the agreement ensures that LMR clients will have access to industry-leading P25 Phase 2 offerings from two comprehensive, mission-critical communications providers.

"This is the next step in the evolution of the open-standards partnership between Cassidian Communications and Tait," says Mr Begaud.

"For the last eight years, both companies have enabled Public Safety interoperability by offering P25 Phase 1 solutions. Now, in partnership and with P25 Phase 2 capabilities, we can provide an even more secure investment with a longer-term solution," he adds.

Victor Agnellini, President, Tait Americas region, says: "This is not just a technology partnership, but a firm commitment to open standards from both Tait and Cassidian Communications.

"Tait and Cassidian Communications are the champions of P25 open standards. Those who invest in our solutions are advocates for their communities and want the power and flexibility to make future investments in communications equipment, rather than being constrained by end-of-life challenges or proprietary technology."

The Tait TB9400 base stations and 9400 series of radios will be exhibited in the Cassidian Communications (#1711) and Tait (#345) booths at the APCO Conference & Expo, August 18–21, in Anaheim, California.
