Mass. man arrested for making fake dispatch calls
The man used a lost or stolen portable radio to make false calls and cancel real calls
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Police have arrested a Massachusetts man for making fake dispatch calls across Litchfield County.
According to police, troopers in Pittsfield, Mass., took 35-year-old Adam Perrilli into custody Friday. Perrilli, of Great Barrington, Mass., is accused of making at least eight fake emergency radio transmissions that interfered with and interrupted emergency calls for services between Dec. 25, 2013 to Jan. 6, 2014.
Police said he sent ambulances out to non-emergencies and canceled calls to actual fires. After receiving the fake calls, state police conducted a criminal investigation and believe Perrilli used a lost or stolen portable radio or electronic device.
