Tenn. Deputy Shot While Investigating Meth Lab

Officer Down: Hubert Yancey - [Knoxville, Tennessee]

Hubert Yancey, 35, known by friends as "John-John", was shot while investigating a meth lab.

Deputies have two people in custody with charges pending. Two more are still wanted.

Deputies say Hubert Yancey and his partner got a tip about a possible meth lab in a home off Williams Creek Road in Scott County. Friday night at 8 they went to check it out. Deputies say the people inside let them in, then someone shot Hubert Yancey to death. His partner Marty Carson wasn't shot.

Yancey had been with the Scott County Sheriff's Department for six years. He had just come back from special training dealing with meth labs last week.

Yancey leaves behind a wife and three young boys.
