Officer Down: Charlie Womack - [Cocoa, Florida]

Charlie Womack, 39, a sergeant with the Cocoa Police Department, passed away Saturday April 3, 2004, at Parrish Medical Center.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Boo Darlene Womack; mother, Susan Womack; brother, Willie Womack, Jr.; nephew, Crockett Womack; brothers-in- law, Kenny Moody, Keith Moody, both of Jacksonville; sister-in-law, Valerie Ballard; and father-in-law, Marion Johnson. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, April 7th, at Wylie-Baxley Rock ledge Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 8th, at the First Baptist Church of Cocoa. Burial will be at Florida Memorial Gardens. Contributions in his name may be made to Mycosis Fungodies Foundation.

Charlie lost his battle with cancer. It lasted 7 years.He was highly respected Sgt. both with his department and with his community
