The Associated Press

UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. — A police officer in a suburb of St. Louis has died after being shot in the town's popular University City Loop area.

KTVI-TV says 50-year-old Michael King died late Friday in the area known for its trendy shops, restaurants and offices.

University City police say they are seeking a 41-year-old man considered a person of interest in the investigation. They also are trying to find a gray car believed to be connected with the shooting.
