Video: LAPD officer who died in Afghanistan laid to rest

He is the second in the department to die in Afghanistan this year

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. — LAPD Officer Joshua Collins was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan last month. Yesterday he was laid to rest at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Simi Valley.

The 28-year-old joined the LAPD in 2008, but was serving with the Marine Reserves in Afghanistan as Explosive Ordinance Disposal Officer. He is the second LAPD officer to die in Afghanistan this year.
