Video: Ohio officers pay tribute to the fallen

The Lorain County Police Memorial Service honored officers James Kerstetter and Andrew Dunn

LORAIN, Ohio — Police from across the county gathered at the Palace Theatre to honor their fallen brothers as the Lorain Police Department hosted the Lorain County Police Memorial Service yesterday.

“We’re honored to be the host city,” said Lorain police Chief Cel Rivera. “We really looked forward to hosting this. We had it back in 2003.”

The memorial service was part of Police Memorial Week, May 15 to 21. Officers packed into the theater as the Highway Patrol band played. At one end of the stage was with a picture of slain Elyria Officer James Kerstetter, and at the other end a picture of Sandusky police officer Andrew Dunn, who was honored even though he was not a Lorain County officer.
