ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis County Police made a young girls wish come true Thursday when they made her a police officer for a day.

Jalisha Pegues, 14, is battling End Stage Renal Disease, and has always wanted to be a police officer, according to Fox 2.

Make-A-Wish Foundation collaborated with the St. Louis police to make sure that dream came true.

Thursday morning, Jalisha thought she was arriving to a doctor’s appointment when she was met by members of the department.

She spent the day training at the police academy, participating in self-defense tactics, handcuffing, and meeting the K-9 unit before rescuing the city’s mascots, who were being held hostage at Busch stadium.
