Wash. PD calling for reserve officers

A 16-hour-per-month minimum commitment is required upon completing the program

ELLENSBURG, Wash. — The Ellensburg Police Department is accepting applications for this year’s officer reserve academy, according to a news release. The program trains and equips state-certified reserve officers to work as volunteers with full-time officers during general patrol duties and assist school resource officers.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens, over 21 years old, have a valid Washington driver’s license and a high school diploma or equivalent. They’ll also have to pass a written test, psychological evaluation and polygraph examination.
